I deeply value the healing arts and all they offer to us as individuals, and in the connections they build. I am therefore pleased to offer Thai yoga massage treatments for individually focused healing and relaxation. I am also an experienced Hatha yoga teacher who enjoys sharing yoga with a wide range of people.

I initially came to yoga suffering from chronic fatigue, having experienced little assistance from conventional medicine. In my more dramatic moments, I have declared that yoga saved my life, and in my lower-key moments, I just refer to it as “magic stuff”. Regular practice of yoga helped me to deal with the stress of the condition and to repair and heal. With yoga, we let go of how we think things ought to be, and work from the current reality towards a better future. I am very grateful for all the improvements in my wellbeing that yoga has assisted, and am deeply convinced of the healing power of yoga.

My first yoga teacher training was with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy and this tradition strongly influences my teaching style. I find that it offers a good balance between the strengthening and challenging practices and the softer releasing and relaxing practices. I respect the Sivananda movement’s commitment to spreading the benefits of yoga internationally within a non-profit network. I have also studied at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, India, and am inspired by this historic tradition’s focus on personal yoga therapy and fluid, mindful movement.

Pregnancy yoga and postnatal yoga are a special interest of mine, and I have completed the Birthlight Peri-natal Yoga Diploma under the tutorship of the inspiring Francoise Freedman.

My training in Thai yoga massage was a pleasure throughout under the calm and uplifting tuition of Kira Balaskas of the School of Thai Yoga Massage, and with the wonderful experience of training with the Sunshine Network in a remote Lahu village in Northern Thailand. I have also completed the ITEC diploma in Anatomy and Physiology which supports my treatments. Giving a Thai yoga massage treatment is always a positive experience for me as the sequences are designed for the well-being of the practitioner as well as the receiver and I love going deep into the zone of focused calm.

I am a member of the Complementary Therapists Association and the Register of Exercise Professionals. I am fully qualified and insured.
